The image is a Loblolly Pine (Pinus taega). Pine trees are conifers. Conifers are predominantly evergreen, cone-bearing trees, and also include trees such as, spruce, hemlock, or fir. They generally retain their needles throughout the year. The tallest loblolly pine tree in Maryland is in Talbot County and is 108 feet tall.
