Pocomoke State Forest

Fall 2025-Winter 2026: Please be alert and aware of powerline maintenance work in Wicomico and Worcester Counties from Spearin Road south towards the Pocomoke River. Please respect all trail and road closures for the safety of yourself and the workers. This work will affect the following tracts: W53 - Twigg Fooks and WR45 - Foster Estate on Chesapeake Forest, and P02 - Nazareth Church on Pocomoke State Forest.

The Pocomoke State Forest (PSF) consists of over 18,000 acres of forested land with the vast majority of it located in Worcester County between Snow Hill and Pocomoke City, with small parcels located in Wicomico and Somerset Counties. Pocomoke State Forest is characterized by large areas of loblolly pine, mixed pine-hardwood, bottomland hardwood, and bald-cypress swamp forests. The Cypress swamps, which are State designated Wildlands, border the Pocomoke River, which is a State designated Scenic River. More information on the Pocomoke Wildlands is provided below.​
