Gunpowder
River near Phoenix Trail. A young Baltimore
County angler caught the new freshwater state record white perch April 16, 2003
while fishing in the Upper Gunpowder River near the Phoenix Trail. Daniel Wells,
age 9, caught the 1 lb. 7 ounce, 14” long, 11-inch girth fish using worm for
bait. He was fishing with his uncle, Martin Prinz, of Towson. The Lutherville
resident had his catch weighed at Set's Sport Shop in Towson. The record was
certified by DNR Fisheries Biologist Martin Gary. |
