Michael Kingree with a State record blue catfish weighing 53 pounds. Mike Kingree 53 lbs. 12/06/01 Mike Kingree of Arlington, Va landed a 53-pound blue catfish at Greenways Flats on the Potomac River in Charles County on 12/06/01. He caught the 42.5 inch fish with a 30 inch girth using cutbait. The fish was taken to Holiday Sports in Temple Hills, MD. Biologists, Ross Williams and Tim Groves, verified the catch at Chuck's Butcher Shop in Bryans Road, MD.
Donald Wilson 39 lb., 4 oz 08/08/1999 At Fort Washington off the Potomac River, 41.625 inch blue catfish, Wilson was using herring for bait.
