The Secretary of Maryland Department of Natural Resources pursuant to Code of Maryland Regulation 08.02.15.12(H) has announced a modification to the striped bass December Gill Net daily catch limit. The December daily catch limit has been replaced with a total allowable weekly catch limit of 2,500 pounds per licensee. This total allowable weekly catch limit will expire at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2007. This change is recommended by the Tidal Fisheries Advisory Commission when the December gill net quota is in excess of 200,000 pounds.

The Secretary may, by public notice, close a season if the quota is projected to be caught by a certain date.
