The Secretary of Maryland Department of Natural Resources pursuant to Code of Maryland Regulation 08.02.15.12(H) has announced a modification to the catch limit for the commercial hook and line striped bass fishery, upon the recommendation of the Tidal Fisheries Advisory Commission. Effective Monday October 8, 2007, the daily catch limit of 300 pounds per day will be rescinded and replaced with a daily catch limit of 400 pounds per day per individual. The total weekly catch limit of 800 pounds per licensee and all other current regulations remain in effect.
The Secretary may, by public notice, close the season if the quota is projected to be caught before the end of the hook and line season on 12:00 pm on November 30.
