Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Fisheries Service is withdrawing the regulatory proposal that appeared in the April 13, 2007 issue of the Maryland Register (Volume 34, Issue 8, pages 771-772). The proposal is being withdrawn because legislation was passed that prohibits the taking and possession of diamondback terrapin for commercial purposes. The legislation will be effective July 1, 2007.
The public hearing on the regulations that was scheduled for Wednesday, April 25, 2007, in the C-1 conference room at the Tawes State Office Building, 580 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, MD has been canceled.
