COMMERCIAL STRIPED BASS DECEMBER GILL NET SEASON MODIFICATION

The Secretary of Maryland Department of Natural Resources pursuant to Code of Maryland Regulation 08.02.15.12(H) announced today a modification to the striped bass December gill net season. Due to over harvest of the January and February 2006 quotas, the December 2006 gill net fishery will only be open 3:00 AM Monday December 11, through 6:00 PM Thursday December 14, 2006. If quota remains after these dates, the fishery will be reopened by public notice.

The daily allocation is 500 pounds per permit per day, striped bass can be harvested between 3:00 AM and 6:00 PM each day, and all other gill net regulations remain unmodified.
