FISHING PERMANENT REGULATION PUBLIC HEARING

Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Fisheries Service will hold a public hearing for the implementation of permanent Chesapeake Bay fishing regulations on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources C-1 Conference Room, Tawes State Office Building, 580 Taylor Avenue in Annapolis.

The hearing will provide the opportunity to receive public comment on proposed permanent regulatory changes that will require use of circle hooks during the Susquehanna Flats catch and release season and define recreational and commercial finfishing gear. Proposed regulations will also clarify other finfishing regulations.

The regulations are available in the Maryland Register Volume 31 Issue 26 - December 27, 2004 and at the Division of State Documents website http://www.dsd.state.md.us/mdregister/. Printed copies will be available at the hearing.

All interested parties are invited to attend and give their views. Sign Language interpreters and other appropriate accommodations for individuals will be provided upon request.
