MARYLAND
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
The Secretary of Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), pursuant to Article §4-1103 and §4-1106(d), Annotated Code of Maryland, will reopen the following portion of natural oyster bar 7-4 located in the waters of Queen Anne County effective Monday, February 28, 2005. Oyster harvesting will be permitted in creeks or coves South of Route 50 Bridge at Kent Narrows and North of a line between Hood Point and Narrow Point on Crab Alley Neck until March 31, 2005 in the following areas.
Kent Island Narrows, Queen Anne`s County - All that area of Prospect Bay and Kent Narrows, including tributary creeks and coves enclosed by a line beginning at a point at or near the intersection of the shoreline and the West end of the U.S. 50-301 highway bridge over Kent Narrows; defined by (38°58'15.7" North Latitude 076°14'53.7" West Longitude) then running about 105° (true) to a point at or near the intersection of the shoreline and the East end of the U.S. 50-301 highway bridge over Kent Narrows; defined by (38°58'14.3" North Latitude 076°14'47.2" West Longitude); then running southerly along the shore to a point at or near the southern end of Hood Point; defined by (38°56'30.0" North Latitude 076°14'4.0" West Longitude); then running about 210° (true) to a point at or near Natural Oyster Bar corner 7-4-5; defined by (38°55'54.0" North Latitude 076°14'31.0" West Longitude); then running about 209° (true) to a point at or near the southern end of Narrow Point; defined by ( 38°55'18.0" North Latitude 076°14'57.0" West Longitude) then running northerly along the shore to the point of beginning; excluding the areas listed below.
The
following areas listed below remain restricted to shellfish harvesting
Kent Islands Narrows, Queen Anne`s County -Kent Island Narrows lying easterly of a line running 100 feet off the east shore of the Narrows from the Flashing Green 4 second light "13" (38°58'36.19" North Latitude, 76°14'47.63" West Longitude) at the northern end of the Narrows to Daymark "8" (38°57'55.20" North Latitude, 76°14'36.00" West Longitude) near the entrance to Wells Cove.
Wells Cove, Queen Anne's County - All waters of Wells Cove lying easterly of a line running in a southeasterly direction from Daymark "8" (38°57'55.20" North Latitude, 76°14'36.00" West Longitude) near the entrance of Wells Cove to a point of land (38°57'44.58" North Latitude, 76°14'30.00" West Longitude) on the southern shore of Wells Cove.
The
following area listed below remains classified as conditionally approved for
shellfish harvesting.
Marshy Creek, Prospect Bay, Queen Anne's County - This area remains classified as conditionally approved and will be closed to catching or storing of shellfish for a period of three days following a rainfall of one or more inches of rain in twenty-four (24) hours. All of the waters of Marshy Creek lying easterly of a line extending in a southeasterly direction from a point of land (38°57'44.58" North Latitude, 76°14'30.00" West Longitude) on the north shore of Marshy Creek to a point of land (38°57'26.29" North Latitude, 76°14'27.58" West Longitude) on the south shore of Marshy Creek.
