Commercial Yellow Perch Meeting On June 28

Tags: Yellow Perch, Commercial FisheriesThe Maryland Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Service will conduct a meeting with commercial yellow perch fishermen to solicit comments and refine procedures for the upcoming 2011 commercial yellow perch season. Topics of discussion will include but are not limited to:
- Phone check-in process / Yellow perch daily hotline
- Tags/tagging requirements
- Legislative/regulatory changes (gear/area restrictions, 24 hour closure notice)
- 2011 Suspensions (partial and full year)
- Procedures and deadlines for the upcoming 2011 season
Your input is very important to our management process, so please give some thought on what changes could be made to improve this fishery. The meeting is scheduled for June 28th, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Fisheries Service Matapeake Work Center, 301 Marine Academy Drive, Stevensville, MD, 21666 (Directions Below). If you are unable to attend the meeting and have ideas to improve the efficiency of this fishery or questions regarding the 2011 yellow perch season, please call Dale Weinrich before the meeting to discuss your ideas.
