The Maryland Natural Resources Police Tuesday charged four men with power dredging for oysters in the Harris Creek Sanctuary in Tilghman Island.
Officers charged Bartlett Wade Murphy Jr., 39, and Benjamin Murphy, 62, both of Tilghman Island, with removing oysters from a sanctuary beyond 150 feet. Murphy was also charged with improper tagging of an oyster container. Both men are scheduled to appear in Talbot District Court on March 20.
Officers also charged Willis Leanard Coleman Jr., 59 of Cambridge, and Robert Andrew Walker, 43 of Hurlock, with removing oysters from sanctuary within 150 feet. Both men are scheduled to appear in Talbot District Court on April 17.
