Big Fish Caught By My Son Dustin

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Between the Gas Docks and Calvert Cliffs Power Plant

I took my son Dustin fishing and his 11-year old brother on a charter boat out of Solomon’s this past Sunday. Captain Shawn Pruitt put us on some big fish between the Gas Dock and the Calvert Cliffs Power Plant. Dustin reeled in a 44” fish by himself and I only steadied the rod for him. It was an exciting fight as the fish broke the surface three times. It took him about 5-minutes to bring her in at about 3:15 on Sunday afternoon. We were trolling a neon green crippled Alewife. His brother Tyler caught a 38” striped bass as well during the same trip. Our boat of 10 people limited out by the end of the afternoon. It was an experience we will never forget. We hail from Westminster and you can be sure we’ll be back next year!
