Busy Night at White Marlin Open
Location: Ocean City, MD
Friday night (8/8) at the White Marlin Open was indeed a busy night. The first White Marlin of the evening was brought to the scales at 4:40 pm. This was followed by several Dolphin, a Wahoo, two Roundscale Spearfish, another small White Marlin, some Yellowfin and Bigeye Tuna. The second place Blue Marlin (723.5 pounds) for the Blue Marlin Division was brought in by Lawrence Julio. The 738.5 pound behemoth Blue boated by Sam Lancelotta on Thursday kept its first place in that Division. The 78 pound White Marlin brought in by John Bayliss, also on Thursday, was the only qualifying White Marlin for the tournament and was worth over a million dollars.
We also now have records from the catch-card program of 85 Sharks, 371 Atlantic Bluefin Tuna and 23 Billfish being brought to the docks in Ocean City so far this season.
