Large Stripers at Shipping Channel

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Lower Bay
Location: Eastern side of Shipping Channel

My son’s first large striper. Sherry, Merrick, Steven Jr. and myself had a good day. We left out late because of the morning fog on 11/17. Trolled East-West on Eastern edge of the shipping channel using white and chartreuse parachute shad rigs behind umbrella rigs. Fish were feast or famine. With Sherry captaining us to the fish and Merrick (5) being the helpful first mate we had doubles twice during the day. First was my little 27 incher, lost the other. The other double was Steven Jr’s 38 incher and Sherry’s (which felt bigger) got off on the way to the boat. I think we had a citation fish there! A couple other hits but no hook-ups. A good day on the water!
