Fishing in the Rain

Type: Freshwater
Region: Central
Location: Middle Creek and Friend's Creek

I just returned from my trip to Middle Creek and Friend's Creek. I first stopped at Middle Creek and tried some of the deep holes at the put and take section but could only catch Fallfish and Bluegills. I was hoping there would be a big Rainbow that managed to avoid being caught. Never know what could be in there. Went up to upper Middle Creek and tried a deep hole that had two Golden Trout. Fished that hole for an hour but these two fish would not take anything-streamers, nymphs, san juan worms. Finally I fished another deep hole and caught a 12" Rainbow. Then on to Friend's Creek. I fished many runs and holes but did not see many fish. Finally I hooked a small Rainbow that got off the hook just as I was landing it. Then the rain started soaking me and my fishing vest-it got worse as time went on. Luckily it was not too cold. I caught another 10" Rainbow Trout later on. Some fish are left though it appears that most have been taken by now. For catch and release action I might try Owen's Creek or Big Hunting Creek. Photo is of Friend's Creek when the rain hit. Tight lines all.
