Gunpowder Falls Rainbow

Type: Freshwater
Region: Central
Location: Gunpowder Falls

I caught a nice 16 inch Rainbow from Gunpowder Falls on a cicaida lure from Dick's.

Thanks for all the hard work you and the rest of the DNR put into making Maryland bearable!!! Its one of the few pearls this state still has.

Q: On another note, I was wondering what areas you mean when you use the terms upper and lower Potomac? I generally think above and below D.C. But not sure, hoping you could clarify that.

A: Kory, you are correct, we generally define the ‘lower Potomac’ area the tidal stretch of river below DC. The Upper Potomac is generally defined as the waters above Montgomery/Frederick County.
