Seahorse In My Crab Pot
Type: Chesapeake
Region: Middle Bay
Location: Near Poplar Island
On October 27, 2012 around 1:45pm in preperation for Hurricane Sandy, I was removing all of my crab pots from the Chesapeake Bay near Poplar Island when I discovered this seahorse in one of my pots. It was alive and I released it in the same area.
I was wondering how common are these in the Chesapeake Bay?
DNR Response: Lined seahorses are common in the lower bay and in the coastal bays.
