The National Wild Turkey Federation JAKES Day Fishing Rodeo
Location: Town of Accident at Accident Pond
The National Wild Turkey Federation recently held their annual JAKES Day Fishing Rodeo with the Town of Accident at Accident Pond. We had a super event with the anglers attending and children signing up as new JAKES members. The kids were soaked to the bone but laughing and catching many fish! When We couldn't have had such a great event without the support of the Accident Community Action Council, Backbone Mt. Sport Shop, Sang Run Sport Shop, Bill's Outdoor Center, Quaker Boy, Bill Hess and his homemade calls, Allegany/Garrett Sportsman's Assoc., Piney Mt. Sportsman's Club, Deer Park Sportsman's Club, and Maryland DNR Fisheries Service.
Kyle fished with his buddies Saylor, Cody, and Jeffrey during the rainy rodeo – these boys caught a bunch of small bluegills and Cody landed a nice brown trout. Kyle was hobbled with a hamstring injury, but there was no way he would miss this event – so we sat him down in a chair and covered him up in a rain poncho. The smiles on these boys are priceless – showing that fish of any size are fun to catch!
