Southern MD - Cedar Point Area
Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Mouth of Patuxent River
Wednesday October 27th went out to the Cedar Point area in Southern Maryland with Capt. Steve McPherson aka Skinny Mac and Matt O’Dell. Did some trolling then noticed some swarms of birds diving in the area and began casting into them and catching quite a few Bluefish as well as some small rockfish. Later in the evening went to Cedar Point lighthouse and fished both with topwater and some suspending jerkbaits. Caught quite a few short ones on topwater and the bigger ones measuring close to 25” on the jerkbaits about three to five feet below the surface. It was another great time on the water with good friends.

Cedar Point Stripers
Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Mouth of Patuxent River
Went fishing out at Cedar Point again last night and really had a great time. We caught around 30 fish (all Rockfish) or so (too many to keep count) ranging in size from 14” to 23-24” on the biggest couple. A handful had the microbacteria on them but the rest were very clean. All caught on topwater plugs just before sundown. At one point I caught a fish on four consecutive casts! Good times!

Cedar Point of Southern Maryland

Fished out at Cedar Point Lighthouse and caught 3 20" Rockfish. Two had that nasty bacteria thing going on and the one in the pic is the clean one we caught. All caught on topwater plugs. Had 4 or 5 others strike but not take the baits. Hoping to get back out again soon.

Fishing in Southern Maryland With My Son
Type: Freshwater
Region: Sourthern
Location: Farm Pond
The following are pictures from 7/10/11 when my 6 year old son Zachary and I were fishing some local farm ponds some friends allowed us to fish and enjoy in Southern Maryland. We are in Great Mills, MD. Most all of the fish were caught on either a Zoom soft plastic worm or a Yamamoto Senko. Zach outfished his old man like 7 to 3, but Dad had the big one on the day in the last pic.
