Code of Maryland Regulation 08.02.04.12 requires that a person possess a power dredge permit in order to catch or attempt to catch oysters with a power dredge.

In order to legally harvest oysters by power dredge you must:
· Pay the $300 oyster surcharge
· Hold a valid oyster license (TFL or OYH)
· Hold a valid Department issued Oyster Power Dredge Permit

A 2007-2008 Oyster Power Dredge Permit may be obtained by completing the application at one of the Department's Regional Service Centers. You no longer have to mail or fax the form to Fisheries Service. The permit will be issued at the Service Center as part of your commercial license. If the license has already been renewed for 2007, than the 2007 license must accompany the application for the oyster dredge permit. You can not hold more than one license. There is no fee for an Oyster Power Dredge Permit.
