TEAM DNR logo Creating a New Generation of Natural Resource Stewards
TEAM DNR is a volunteer program dedicated to educating elementary and middle school students about the Chespeake Bay and other natural resource issues in Maryland. Our volunteers come from different backgrounds but all have a strong desire to help students understand and enjoy their natural environment. Their efforts provide an important link between DNR and schools around the State.

Since its inception, TEAM DNR volunteers have delivered 1000 classroom programs and have reached more than 34,000 students in Maryland. Started in the spring of 1998, TEAM was piloted in Anne Arundel County schools. Based on the results of the pilot program, TEAM was well received by teachers and students alike.

Since the 1998 pilot program, TEAM has annually recruited and trained volunteers to deliver our every expanding services to schools around the State. During its most recent year, TEAM served more than 5,000 students from schools across Maryland.

The TEAM program currently has 57 volunteers working across the State. We work with students in both public and private schools. During the summer of 2005, volunteers began working with summer day camp programs, to keep our volunteers active throughout the year.
