Elk Neck State Forest Shooting Range Closed September 10
North East, Md. (August 22, 2011) — All shooting ranges at Elk Neck State Forest will be closed to the public on Saturday, September 10 to allow for the Northern Chesapeake Sportsmen for Kids Field Day. The range will close at sunset on September 9 and re-open at 9 a.m. on September 11.
The field day is a joint venture between the Northern Chesapeake Sportsmen for Kids, Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and other partners. Participants are introduced to firearms safety, receive shooting instruction and learn the conservation techniques of wildlife management.
