Free Kids Fishing Clinic Coming to Prince George’s County

Prince George’s County, Md. (July 20, 2011) ─The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) joins the Future Fisherman Foundation to host a free youth fishing clinic from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., on July 26,  at Windmill Pond in the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary. The clinic is geared toward helping aspiring anglers ages 8 through15, learn the basics of fishing, including casting and fishing techniques, fish identification, angler ethics and catch-and-release practices.

DNR will provide the fishing equipment and bait for the clinic. Participants will need to dress for the outdoors and bring their own beverages and sunscreen. Young anglers should also come eager to learn and prepared to have a good time.
