Halethorpe, Md. (June 28, 2010) The Maryland Park Service announces that a portion of the Grist Mill trail in Patapsco Valley State Park will be closed Monday through Friday beginning June 30. The area to be closed includes the section of the trail between Orange Grove and Lost Lake in the Avalon/Glen Artney area of the Park. While it is closed, this section of trail will be re-paved and drainage issues will be repaired.

Park managers expect that this section of the trail will be closed for approximately 4 weeks.

Bikers and hikers wishing to travel from the south street entrance to Illchester will need to travel through Orange Grove, then cross the Orange Grove bridge to the Upper end of the Grist Mill Trail.

The section of the Grist Mill trail between Orange Grove and Illchester will remain open and will not be affected by work on the closed portion.
