Maryland Natural Resources Police Blotter
Frederick County - The Maryland Natural Resources Police continue to investigate the shooting of a black bear that took place on Saturday, November 25, in a wooded area near John Draper and Tower roads. NRP received the report from a concerned citizen. Anyone with information about this investigation is urged to contact Maryland Natural Resources Police at the Town Hill Office at 301-777-7771.
Frederick County – On Sunday, December 3, at 1:40 a.m. NRP charged Jessee Downs, 24, Aaron M. Perez, 21, both of Thurmont and Susan J. Kirstukas, 40, of Keymar with casting rays of artificial light on fields or woodland while having a weapon in possession capable of killing deer in the area of Comus Road at the Sugar Loaf Mountain Recreation area. NRP seized as evidence a Ruger .220 Swift rifle, a hand held spotlight and 19 rounds of .220 Swift ammunition.
Talbot County – On Friday, December 1, NRP charged Edward Bruce Lowery Jr., 41, of Tilghman with six counts of landing and selling over his daily limit of oysters, three counts of theft against the state less than $500, three counts of theft against the state greater than $500 and theft scheme over $500. These charges are the results of an investigation and search warrants served on Harrison’s Oyster House in March of this year. Lowery allegedly landed and sold 118 bushels of oysters over the limit during the 2005-2006 oyster season.
