Final Regulations

Recently Adopted Regulations in Title 27

On Monday, December 22, 2014 the Commission adopted changes to COMAR regarding State Agency Actions on State-Owned Lands.

The updated regulations are found in:

COMAR 27.01.01 General Provisions
COMAR 27.02.01 General Provisions
COMAR 27.02.05 State Agency Actions Resulting in Development on State-Owned Lands

These regulations:

  1. Redraft certain regulations in Subtitle .02 to bring the language up to current Division of State Documents drafting standards and to streamline the regulations;
  2. Propose certain changes to the development provisions that affect State agencies’ projects on State-owned lands; and
  3. Insert climate change provisions required by Executive Order .01.01.2012.9, which in part states, “The Critical Area Commission for the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays should evaluate existing regulations and policies for State Agency Actions Resulting in Development on State-Owned Lands and consider the adoption of new or revised provisions that address climate change and the risk of sea level rise and other extreme weather-related impacts.”
