Estimated width of body of water: 150 Yards

Estimated average depth of water in area: 6 feet

Shoreline Characteristics: There is an island at the entrance to the cove. A large shoal is east of this island. The cove is between 15th and 27th street. There are 3 canals. Almost all of the lots have bulkheads.

Land Activities nearby (industry, farming, urban, etc): Condominiums on the north - Bahia Marina and a motel on the east. The other properties are single family residential.

If you moved to the area, why did you decide to move? Unmatched natural amenities and recreational opportunities.

What did you enjoy most about the Coastal Bay (Fishing, Swimming, Boating, etc.)?  Fishing

What do you like least about the Coastal Bays? Visitors that pollute the bars.

What related experience do you bring to the program? Summer Flounder advisor to Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council.

Why did you decide to become a volunteer monitor? To help the program meet its objectives.

How long have you lived near the Coastal Bays? 1 2 years.

If you moved to the area, why did you decide to move? To be close to water and return to East Coast after 20 years in Mid-West and Overseas.

What do you enjoy most about the Coastal Bay (Fishing, Swimming, Boating, etc.)?  Boating, Wildlife that migrates through here, Kayaking in the quiet places.

What do you like least about the Coastal Bays? Trash thrown on shore and water, Boaters who do not follow safe and ecological practices.

What related experience do you bring to the program? Lived most of early years on the water (Caribbean) and place high value on its protection. Was an undergrad in Oceanography prior to Engineering.

Why did you decide to become a volunteer monitor? Want to contribute directly on local level to understanding and managing the bays.
