Our Story
The Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund (Trust Fund) allows Maryland to accelerate Bay restoration by focusing limited financial resources on the most efficient, cost-effective non-point source pollution control projects. State agencies work with our local partners to administer the money in ways that leverage the funds to the greatest extent possible, target the funds geographically, engage the community at large, and hold everyone accountable.
Funding the most efficient and cost-effective projects.
The Trust Fund geographically targets to reduce the greatest amount of nonpoint source pollution from entering the mainstem of the Bay.
Advancing the science of restoration.
The Trust Fund is accelerating bay restoration through the advancement of new technologies and strategically monitoring select projects to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness while optimizing future investments.
Building capacity at the local level.
The Trust Fund provides technical assistance to local governments and non-governmental organizations to meet local water quality goals.
