NOTICE TO BOATERS

MAJOR RIVER SYSTEM:
Patuxent River - St. Leonard’s Creek
COUNTY OR COUNTIES IN AREA:
Upper Calvert County

The Department of Natural Resources has received a petition to establish a 6 knots speed limit Sat, Sun and Holidays during the boating season on all the waters of St Leonard’s Creek, Calvert County between a line beginning at Lat. 38˚26.214'N., Long. 76˚29.075'W. running to a point Lat. 38˚26.143'N., Long. 76˚ 28.952'W.

Extending to a line beginning at Lat. 38˚25.794'N., Long. 76˚29.279'W. running to a point Lat. 38˚25.787'N., Long. 76˚29.366' W.

The action is being requested by the petitioners to increase safety, stop erosion, and stop damage to the creek bottom.

The Department will conduct a survey and study of this area during the 2008 boating season. Interested parties are encouraged to provide comments on the requested regulatory change. Written comments will be accepted until September 8, 2008.
