DISPOSITION OF REGULATION REQUESTS FOR 2007

REGULATION REQUESTS FOR 2008

The Maryland Boat Act Advisory Committee recommended the following:

Chester River
At all times, boating season only. From Red Nunn 40 to the Rt. 213 Bridge. Exempt coach boats & rowing boats


Cambridge Creek

Extend the 6-knots at the mouth of Cambridge Creek to the end of the floating docks.

Tar Cove

6 knots Sundays, Saturdays & Holidays during the boating season.

Mill/St. John's Creek

Increase vessel size to 19 feet so vessels are not subject to a 6-knots at all times speed limit.

St. Leonard's Creek 

6 knots Sundays, Saturdays & Holidays during boating season between power lines and ramp area.

 

Rock Creek 
6 knots at all times, all year.

Peach Orchard Cove 

6 knots at all times.

Brown's Cove 

6 knots at all times

Old Severn River Bridge 

Repeal the current 6 knot regulation and establish a prohibited zone around the fishing pier.

Annapolis Harbor 
Seasonal pull back of the 6-knots line at the Harbor.


The Maryland Boat Act Advisory Committee, BAAC reviews boating regulations for the State of Maryland. BAAC is made up of representatives of people from all different active water groups in Maryland. They are appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and are a citizen volunteer committee. They donate their time and boating experience to provide insight into proposals for regulatory action. The Committee meets on a regular basis to review regulatory proposals.
