NOTICE TO BOATERS

MAJOR RIVER SYSTEM:
Old Severn River Bridge
COUNTY OR COUNTIES IN AREA:
Anne Arundel County

The Department of Natural Resources has determined that a repeal of the current regulation that restricts boats to 6 knots when within 50 yards of the Old Severn River Bridge is warranted, as the bridge has been removed. A request to establish a prohibited boating zone of 50 yards around the fishing pier at Jonas Green Park has been received.

The proposal is to allow less interference between anglers and boaters.

The Department will conduct a survey and study of this area during the 2008 boating season. Interested parties are encouraged to provide comments on the requested regulatory change. Written comments will be accepted until September 8, 2008.
