NOTICE TO BOATERS

MAJOR RIVER SYSTEM:
Chesapeake Bay - Hawk Cove - Brown's Cove
COUNTY OR COUNTIES IN AREA:
Baltimore County

The Department of Natural Resources has received a petition to establish a 6 knots at all times on all the waters of Brown's Cove above a line beginning at approximately Lat. 39˚16.510'N., Long. 76˚23.920'W. to a point Lat. 39˚16.535'N., Long. 76˚23.770'W. across the mouth of the creek.

The action is being requested to control vessel traveling at ‘unreasonable speeds for safety’ in a newly dredged channel, according to the petitioners.

The Department will conduct a survey and study of this area during the 2008 boating season. Interested parties are encouraged to provide comments on the requested regulatory change. Written comments will be accepted until September 8, 2008.
