What You Can Do

There are a number of opportunities for citizen to help protect and restore Maryland's water resources. Environmental and community groups  actively help reduce nonpoint source pollution by sponsoring volunteer monitoring programs, educational seminars, providing input on environmental policy issues and implementing small watershed projects. Individuals can also help protect Maryland's water resources by practicing smart household and lawn management practices. For more information about programs or initiatives in your areas, please contact the Department of Natural Resources at 410-260-8708.
